GONNA DRINK BEER TODAY…

How's your week been, have YOU earned a beer?

When I was coaching people 121 and we were looking at exercise and food, from my own experience we used to have this chat is this you? It certainly used to be me!

Monday to Friday, eat well, exercise well, feeling pretty pleased with ourselves. Going for a few drinks Friday evening. No problem, been good all week. So we have a few beers, well more than a few really. But I’ve been good all week. I agree. One night off won’t hurt.

The morning after the night before…

You know how it is, feeling a bit “squiffy”, have lie in, get up, mmm need some “night after food”, bacon butty? bacon an egg? bacon egg and sausage? Or, let’s go out and have a Full English. As I say, speaking from experience here. Gym? Nah. Walk? No chance, gonna watch footy and chill, it’s WEEKEND. Shall we have a take away tonight? I know I’m not on my own here because there’s about 20 cars outside the take away!!!

Sunday. Well Sunday’s a rest day isn’t it? I’ll get back on it tomorrow. Sounds familiar? Course it does.

Bit of a reality check coming. True. One day of indulgence out of six will not hurt, in fact it can even be a good thing. The Rock, Dwayne Johnson has a “cheat day” where he has a blow out too. Thing is you/we/I didn’t just have one day did we?

We had Friday + Saturday + Sunday = 3 days… So not as good a week as we thought. Just saying!

So 4 steps forwards

3 steps back…

And I’ve just talked myself into going for a walk, what about you? Half an hour? Stand and sit?

Anyway boys and girls, remember when we were boys and girls, playing footy (soccer) netball, rounders etc, the two best players (or the boy whose ball it was and a good player) used to take turns at picking players for their team. If you were good, you got picked first, all the way down the make weights who got picked last… Well this retired 62 year old plays football every Friday evening, I’m the oldest player by an easy 25 years (in fact one of the players missed the game last week because it was his dad’s……50th). Normally the teams are picked in advance and sent out by WhatsApp. Yesterday though the teams hadn’t been picked as the organiser had resigned, long story. Anyway we met and the “two good players” started to pick the teams and guess what?

I was picked first! Made my week.

And we won.

It’s not over till it’s over people is the moral of this story.

In fact it’s the moral of this whole blog.

Have a good Saturday all.
